If you’re reading this blog post, then I’m guessing you’re already intrigued as to what alternative there is to a wedding. So, I’m talking to you if you’ve been with your partner for a long time, but never got around to ‘taking the plunge’ I’m talking to you if your partner is saying ‘maybe’ or ‘no, it’s just not right for me’, every time you talk to them about getting married. I’m talking to you if – for whatever reason – a legal marriage is just not going to work for you.
You’re here reading this, so you obviously want to be able to show your commitment to one another – possibly in front of all your family and friends; maybe in a small intimate ceremony with just a few select people and your celebrant.
You know you are life-long partners -maybe you already have a house, children and pets with each other; or maybe you each bring your own past and present to your relationship and want to move forward as a new family together – without all the legal stuff.
Whatever the circumstances, you don’t need to keep banging the drum about getting married, or being paralysed by fear because marriage isn’t the right path, so what do you do? Your solution is a Commitment Ceremony.
In a commitment ceremony you can still exchange rings and make vows with one another, if you wish. You can include other symbolic actions. You can have music and readings. You can come down the aisle if you want to… or, you can keep it really simple. You can be as traditional or non-traditional as you like; aas religious or non-religious as you want. It doesn’t have to be complicated and I will be there every step of the way to guide and support you to achieve the ceremony that you really want – and as unique as you are.
